The Windmills
Of my mind
Like a tear, I can hear.
Falling from the sky
Round and round, the truth is, found
When the heavens cry
Across the fields and the yields
Cropped by irrigation
lost in the impost
By a war that is an invasion
I cannot conceive or believe
The loss and cost of war
The cruel cost of collateral
And yet there is more
They turn and turn, and I yearn
To learn the reason why
The windmills of my mind
A teardrop from my eye
It seems cruel is the rule.
For the masters of war
A mad mind is aligned
Is adding to the score
Holding the world to ransom
Bleeding the needing
Burned and turned to rubble
The hapless left bleeding
Climate change and poverty
The rich man sits in style
Filing his fingernails
As the world falls into a pile
As we learn what is lost
The windmill is turning.
Past a mind that is blind
left broken and burning.
