Play today and say ole
Do it now, don’t waste a second
Time is ticking on and on
Much more than you reckoned.

Move-in haste and do not waste
A minute or an hour
Don’t sit at home on the throne
In your ivory tower.

Play is what we did back then
Until someone said stop,
Stop playing games they said
Stand still and do not hop.

I fear we’ve lost the fount of fun
Trying to be so sensible
Doing what we think is right
And being called dependable.

Life is short it’s time tango
And dance until the dawn
Stare at the stars in the sky
Lying on the lawn.

When you’re gone, it’s over
There’ll be, no second chance
So put on your dancing shoes
Now’s the time to do a dance.

Play is what the pundits say
Time to enjoy yourself
Get out there and do it
Don’t get left, on the shelf.
