Time to Talk
Before I take a walk
In other times I talk in rhymes,
and now it’s time to talk,
dictating to a microphone,
before I take a walk.
All I’ve known is blown away,
everything is different now,
my life is changed and rearranged,
a different world that I allow.
Imprisoned by the polly’s,
my freedom stripped away,
and now I know it’s time to talk,
and I have plenty more to say.
Let’s first talk about Liberty,
this is our inborn right,
stripped away in seconds,
each day and every night.
I have to ask is this the task,
that has a silver lining,
is there an end and can we bend?
without our right to life declining.
Are we now beholden to?
big Brother and the others,
new rules and regulations,
are giving me the shudders.
Fair is fair but we must dare,
to stand up for ourselves,
otherwise we’re disconnected,
just a bunch of Scomos elves.
We participate for protection,
without a word or interjection,
in this life packed with strife,
and wait for the injection.
The patent panacea,
it seems that it’s a dream,
waiting for a wastrel,
is enough to make one scream.
Let’s learn to do things differently,
the sooner is the better,
we can live in a different world,
and do things to the letter.
Let’s comply but not rely,
to talk and propaganda,
or lie down and be lonely
new views from my verandah.
I know there is another place,
it’s time for me to talk,
and to break the silence,
and to walk the walk.
