Watch
As time heals.
As the clock ticks away,
And daybreak slowly steals,
I know that there is compensation,
And that time mostly heals.
It takes a while and a smile,
And no recriminations,
And the need to proceed,
Without lamentations.
Friendship is a fierce bond,
Break it, and it’s gone,
I know that it’s another day,
It’s time to carry on.
Whether it’s on a Monday,
Or wise on the weekend,
It will depend on you and me,
To see how we can fend.
Looking out, we take a scout,
And check out what has changed,
That there’s far less tension,
Now our lives are rearranged.
And the past is put last,
Today’s there here and now,
Tomorrow is another day,
So let’s take a bow.
Let bygones be bygones,
And see what stands the test,
Then unravel what we have,
And select the best.
Here and now, there and then,
Sitting down to meals,
Unravel as we travel,
And watch as the time heals.
