We Met
In a previous incarnation.
I saw you lying next to me
Your smile as warm as sunshine
Contentment filled our hearts and souls
I was yours and you were mine.
Lost but not forgotten
We’d met many lifetimes before
In a previous incarnation
We lay together on the shore.
The storm was swift the river stretched
Broke her banks and whirled in torrents
At that second in space and time
We were pulled into disappearance.
Cast into the river we were then
Washed along down to the blue sea
We clung still to the same embrace
That was always meant to be.
Our time and space lay suspended
Waiting for rebirth and incarnation
Until I saw your face once more
No ghostly aberration.
And when we kissed we knew the signs
Of the love separated by the flood
And the torrents that tore us apart
Our destinies risen from the mud.
The blood of kinship remembered
An oasis in each other’s arms
Of our unfinished incarnation
And we were exchanging our charms.
The knight’s Armor is thick and strong
Fear haunts the empty spaces
Of our hearts our souls and mind
And sweet embrace shown on our faces.
We land on the other side
Hands-on hips we stand akimbo
The love we had we seize again
Nere apart again nor left in limbo.
