What, if in fact, there was no such thing as a “natural order?” What if men like Oscar Wilde could, through the mechanism of Art, re-imagine nature at will, however they choose? Needless to say, seen in this light, Wilde’s trial, imprisonment, and de facto disenfranchisement was a foregone conclusion.
