You Seem So Far Away

A Poem of Unrequited Love

When I think about you love
you seem so far away
are you connected to my airwaves
I tune in every day.

My mind breaches the distance
between us when apart
are you still there like I have been
right from the very start.

The clichés have been used up
though many don’t make sense
is the grass really greener
won’t come to my defence.

Absence makes my heart grow fonder
is like playing an illusion
when I ask are you still there
it’s more like a delusion.

When I quietly closed the door
and watched you disappear
I’m living in another world
until you reappear.

I know you want me here for you
where you can rest and recuperate
how long can I keep waiting
until it is too late.

More and more excuses
you say its only circumstance
how long can I keep going on
doing this crazy dance.

Then there’s another part of me
a sign that shows the way
though I get lost at the crossroads
you seem so far away.
